Phoenix Event - PodiumExciting announcement!

I am going to be kicking off the Fletcher Free Library’s Summer Reading Program with a humongous event at the library in Burlington on Friday, June 24th!

Starting at 10:30am, I’m going to do a TALK (with bonus reading!) around the Summer Reading Program’s theme of “Get in the Game.” There will be swag! And maybe games! Perhaps we’ll just lock everyone in the library and see who survives? (Just kidding:)–that would be a kind of worst-case Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library sequel, right?)

At 11:30am, we’ll adjourn to a space with tables for a WRITING WORKSHOP! We’ll talk about the pros and cons of writing in the first-person present, that most “in the game” of points of view. We’ll play writing games, talk about some mentor texts, and do a writing exercise. You’ll have an opportunity to share your work and get feedback from me!

Finally, at 12:30pm, there will be a PIZZA PARTY! I’ll hang out and chat with you about whatever you want. We can talk books, we can talk games, we can talk books about games and games about books. Or we can just hang out and eat pizza—YOUR CHOICE!

I’m so thrilled to have been invited to launch the Summer Reading Program. Thank you to the Fletcher Free Library and Lisa Buckton, its awesome Teen Services Librarian, and also to Phoenix Books and the wonderful Kari Meutsch for co-sponsoring the event. They will have my books for sale that day at the library—No Safety in Numbers is a great way to get your heart racing this summer while you hang out in the shade!

Extra points if you come dressed as your favorite No Safety in Numbers character!

I can’t wait to meet you on June 24th!
